A new campaign – We Are Undefeatable – has been launched to support people living with long-term health conditions to build physical activity into their lives. One in four people in England lives with a long-term health condition, and they’re twice as likely to be inactive despite evidence that being active can help manage many conditions and help reduce the impact and severity of some symptoms.

The campaign is supported in our county by Northamptonshire Sport, which is currently working with local partners to provide more opportunities for people with long-term illnesses to become more active.

This includes the ‘Get Set to Go’ project, which is being delivered by Rushden Mind to promote mental health awareness among physical activity providers and to help people experiencing mental health problems to get active. Northamptonshire Sport is also working with the British Lung Foundation and Northamptonshire Carers to promote practical exercise opportunities for people with respiratory illness attending local Breathing Space groups.
