I want to feel better about myself and my wellbeing. I pledge to walk to work more often and to take time to notice my surroundings. Also to stop and talk to people more often - especially people I don't know or haven't seen for a while.

I pledge to physically wind down from some community activities I have been involved in as having too many impact on my time management resulting in not only a poorer quality of life for myself specifically considering work-life balance but also in the energy and concentration I can offer those groups. I need to specify where I can be of most benefit including in my home life which has often been put in second place!

I am making this pledge to look after my mental well-being by being more active on a daily basis and at weekends being out in the countryside. This will help me to focus on my wellbeing and be beneficial to my young child.

I care about the well being of my family, friends, students and co-workers... actually, everyone! ...and I realise that it's unreasonable to expect them to take care of themselves unless I am willing to do the same for myself. Whether you have a faith or not I think it would be folly not to believe life is miraculous. Although I sometimes struggle (as we all do) I want to take this pledge to help remind me to value what I have. I want no drop of joy, beauty or kindness to go unnoticed, no opportunity for growth missed, so that when the challenges come I am able to take them in my stride, and support others when they need it.

My involvement benefits my mental wellbeing as well as giving benefit and pleasure to others.
